Accommodation at Island Vibe Backpackers Hostel gives you all the variety you need.  Camping in the garden, large spacious dorm rooms with linen and lockers, cheap garden shacks for two and then the crème de la crème, Beach House en suite private rooms are available.  These too can be arranged as doubles, twins, triples and even family (double bed with bunk).  All our beach house rooms open onto a balcony overlooking the beach and have never ending views across the Indian Ocean.  Our wonderful restaurant staff will even organise you breakfast in bed on request!

Island Vibe Backpackers Hostels party atmosphere is well known amongst backpackers and thus our vibrant bar and awesome surf side restaurant areas need to be mentioned! The restaurant is open all day, culminating at 19h30 with a delicious value- for –money communal dinner which ranges from the authentic SA Braai (BBQ) to a Mexican feast or finger licking chicken curry. New to our set up is our very own pizza oven which serves much needed happy hour snacks!  The Island Vibe bar is the area to let your hair down and really enjoy yourself, either by making new friends, sipping cocktails / beers or simply sitting on a couch and watching everyone else.

Jeffreys Bay, or J-bay as it is known amongst the locals, has that unique seaside town feel to it, that’s difficult to put your finger on. Jeffreys pulses with everything synonymous with the word “beach”.  And the best thing is that all 4 seasons are included in this feeling.  In summer the bay reflects that ocean dazzle that automatically puts you in high spirits, in autumn the town is abuzz with prospective waves and surfing season.  In winter – hey! the waves come and J-Bay receives a blanket of surf etiquette, surf talk and… The Billabong Pro Championship and festival!  Even the non surfers get wrapped up in enthusiasm.  Whales are also prominent this time of year, wallowing in the bay, showing off their calves and luring surfers and other sea adventure junkies to dare join them.  Spring brings with it the Jeffreys Bay Shell Festival and the knowledge that summer is yet again around the corner. 

Jeffreys Bay is the best place to renew your wardrobe - factory outlets for all major surf brands reside alongside each other offering you, the shopper, great deals and bargain discounts that just don’t make sense not to buy. Billabong, Quiksilver, Lizard, Ripcurl, Element, Von Zipper and Jeep all await your need for holiday retail therapy.

Luckily Jeffreys Bay has managed to sustain the small town holiday feel to it despite its growth in terms of shops and amenities.  Now boasting a mall with cinema, a choice of supermarkets, banks and chemists, J-Bay has grown in physical size, providing a wider choice to holiday makers who visit.

The restaurants in J-bay are ideal for seafood lovers and unique ones like Walskipper and Tapas give you a totally different experience whilst enjoying the likes of calamari, prawns and local fish.  Their outdoor touch means sitting with your feet in the sand (literally) and your meal being cooked on open fires.
